STATEMENT OF FAITH

LIBERTAD CHRISTIAN CHURCH

We believe that the Church is the Body of Christ, made up of all born-again believers. Its mission is to worship God, edify believers, and evangelize the world (Ephesians 1:22–23; Matthew 28:19–20; Acts 2:42–47)

The Bible

We believe that the Bible, composed of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is the only sufficient rule for Christian faith and life (2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21).

Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death on the cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascension into heaven, and His personal return in power and glory (John 1:1–14; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Acts 1:9–11).

GOD

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14). God is holy, loving, just, and all-powerful.

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the Holy Spirit as the third person of the Trinity. He convicts of sin, regenerates the believer, dwells within them, empowers them to live a holy life, and equips them with spiritual gifts for the edification of the Body of Christ (John 14:16–17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:4–11).

Salvation

We believe that salvation is by grace through faith, not by works. It is a gift from God received by repenting and believing in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior (Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 10:9–10; Acts 4:12).

The Ordinance

We believe in two ordinances instituted by the Lord: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism is a public expression of faith in Christ, and the Lord’s Supper is a commemoration of His sacrifice (Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26).

The Return of Christ and the Final Judgment

We believe in the personal, visible, and glorious return of Jesus Christ, in the resurrection of the dead, the final judgment, and eternal life for those who believe, as well as eternal condemnation for those who reject Christ (John 5:28–29; Revelation 20:11–15; Titus 2:13).

The Christian Life

We believe that the believer is called to live in holiness, obeying God and being led by the Holy Spirit. We are called to love God above all things and to love our neighbor as ourselves (Romans 12:1–2; Galatians 5:22–25; Matthew 22:37–39).
